Gaskets

Hawleys CNC cuts a wide range of gasket materials in all flange standards and sizes for the steam and boiler industry. These include Tanged Graphite, Expanded PTFE, Engineered Graphite as well as other non asbestos materials. These generally share the common traits of high temperature compatibility as they operate at elevated temperatures for the most of their working life. They can be used on anything from Boiler door & Man Hole Gaskets to Boiler Gauge Mount gaskets and anything in between, so long as the media and temperature are compatible. Lagging 

Hawleys has its own range of lagging materials that are commonly used in the steam and boiler industry. This includes Fiberglass Tapes (both woven & ladder), Fiberglass Rope Lagging and Ceramic Blanket. These laggings are used to insulate pipes and boilers to both retain the internal thermal temperature and to protect the external environment from the internal heat. This increases both efficiency by reducing heat loss and protects external personal and equipment from radiant heat.

Gauge Glass

Hawleys has its own range of 3/4" (19mm outside diameter) borosilicate gauge glass manufactured mainly in two main thicknesses; 3.2mm thick and 5.5mm thick. The later size is our unique heavy wall glass which is quite often used in boilers where the water quality perishes the normal thickness glass quickly, quite often not lasting between service intervals. There is also a complete range of spare glass for reflex and transparent gauge glass in sizes 1 to 9 in both A & B configurations.

Gauge Mounts

Hawleys manufactures its own range of patented Boiler Gauge Mounts. These are designed to show the water level in a boiler (or can be used on any other vessel if needed). Our Bronze Boiler Gauge Mount has a patented metal to metal quick change drain/top assembly which allows the one unit to be a left or right hand configuration. With many improvements over previous generations Gauge Mounts, these are used internationally by boiler manufacturers and service technicians. To add to this, there is also a range of higher pressure Gauge Mounts which accommodate Reflex and Transparent Level Gauges.

Level Gauges

Hawleys has a range of Reflex and Transparent level gauges available from sizes 1 to 9 in both A & B configurations. These are typically used on higher pressure boilers where typical borosilicate gauge glass is not suitable. These couple with a higher pressure top and bottom gauge mount on the side of boilers.

Ball Valves

Hawleys supplies a range of ball valves to the Boiler Manufacturing industry. These are mainly restricted to high temperature three piece ball valves with a high temperature seat to allow elevated operational temperatures as well as some more basic two piece ball valves for feed water and other lower temperature isolation uses. These are not only used on the boilers themselves but also on the install of the associated pipework when the boiler is commissioned and isolating ball valves are needed.

Check Valves

Hawleys supplies a range of check valves used in the steam and boiler industry. These include two and three piece inline check valves. These have a metal to metal lapped disc face so it allows a bubble tight seal while operating at high temperatures. These check valves are very commonly used on boilers and associated steam lines. To add to this there are also other types of check valves such as flanged & wafer available in different styles and sizes. Each check valve has a different use case and application.

Globe Valves

Hawleys manufactures its own range of globe valves designed for steam service. These include Bronze, Ductile Iron and Stainless Steel in both flanged and threaded options. Globe valves are commonly used in the steam industry as either an isolation valve that will give a soft start up or as a throttling valve. This throttling ability or slow start up is something that is readily used in steam systems and hence the popularity of Globe Valves over other types of valves.

Pressure Relief Valves

Hawleys has a range of pressure relief valves used in steam systems. These are available in both Bronze and Stainless Steel in both closed cap and easing gear configurations. Pressure Relief Valves need to be sized correctly for each application and Hawleys has a team of experts which can help with this should it be needed.
